Friends of the Libraries
The
Libraries assume a leadership role within the University community
for providing access to information for teaching and research.
The Glenn G. Bartle Library houses collections in the fine arts, humanities, social sciences and mathematical and computer sciences. Special Collections and University Archives are also in Bartle.
The Science Library, located in the midst of the university science complex, serves the pure and applied sciences and houses the map collection.
At Binghamton University, a special group of Friends supports our libraries in perserving past scholarship while using state-of-the-art information technologies to obtain the latest scholarship.
Why You're Needed as a Friend
Binghamton University Libraries are among the reasons Binghamton is rated the "Premier Public University in the Northeast" (The Fiske Guide to Colleges).
When you become a Library Friend, you join a select group dedicated to sustaining excellence by making an investment in the future Binghamton University.
Much of that future lies at the intellectual crossroads of the University—its libraries. They must continually innovate to keep abreast of today's Information Age while expanding collections and services to sustain Binghamton's commitment to excellence in teaching and scholarship.

What Your Gift Supports
Contributions go directly to the libraries for:
- Acquiring books, journals and multimedia
- Enhancing remote access to digital bibliographic and full text databases
- Creating locally digitized repositories of Binghamton University scholarship
- Acquiring, processing and preseving special collections of local, regional, national and international interest
- Mounting singular exhibits that inform students and the community
