Finding Periodicals and Articles
There is a small collection of print Public Adminstration journals available for browsing at the University Downtown Center Library. Many journals that were once available in print are now available only electronically.
Locating titles in InfoLINK
Search by Journal title in InfoLINK. Click on the title to see the years that we carry the journal in paper or microform format.
Locating an e-journal by title
InfoLINK will display the e-journals as well as paper journals, but InfoLINK will not display the dates of availabilty for electronic titles.
If you are trying to determine if we have a particular date or issue for an electronic journal, the easiest way to do this is to use the "Find E-Journal" feature of metaLINK. It will display all sources for the journal, as well as the dates of availability.
Locating an e-journal by subject
Many e-journals, but not all, have been assigned subjects loosely based on the Library of Congress subject headings, allowing you to browse them by subject, such as the Law, Politics, and Government heading. However, you are still only browsing at the journal title level. Searching for keywords across an index is still the most efficent way to look for articles about a given topic.
Core Public Administration Journals
This provides a list of important public administration journals and what indexes and databases provided full or paritial indexing of the contents, not necessairly the full text access to the journal contents. If you are still having difficulty locating article citations from certain titles, please let Sarah Maximiek know immediatly.
metaLINK CrossSearch
It is possible to do very broad keyword searches across multiple databases at once in order to "cast a wide net" and determine where may be best to do more focused searching. This screen allows you to choose from some pre- arranged sets of databases for this type of searching. Contact Sarah Maximiek if you need help with this or you wish to set up your own cross-searchable sets.
