Guidestar
Searchable database of 1.5 million nonprofit organizations who are registered with the IRS and have filed an IRS 990 financial form. Although the basic database is free, you must register to search the database and agree to the site license agreement. You can also pay to obtain additional search options and obtain more detailed information in the GuideStar reports.

Coalition of U. S. charitable and philanthropic foundations and corporate-giving organizations. Web site contains some free research publications, public policy statements, and accountability information for organizations and nonprofits.

National Center for Charitable Statistics at the Urban Institute
A national repository of data on the nonprofit sector in the United States whose mission is to "develop and disseminate high quality data on nonprofit
