Finding books in the library
Library of Congress Subject Headings
Use infoLINK Library Catalog to find nursing books.
If you change the Search Type to Title Begins With you find books by a known title e.g. Nurse’s 3-minute Clinical Reference. You can also change the Search Type to search by author, subject heading or ISBN. For example, if you were looking for the book Nursing and the Cancer Patient you would type this title into the search box and change the drop down box to Title Begins With.

Keyword Search allows you find books by topic. You would use this search when you are unsure of the book's title, author or subject. For example, if you wanted to find books about nursing management styles, you would type the keywords "nursing" and "management" in the keyword search box.

Finding books in the library
To find a book in the library, check the Library Holdings section of the book's catalog record. This section will give book's LC number (call number) and location (e.g. science library stacks). If you click on this link, you can check to see if the book is in the library or on loan.

Subject Headings
Books in the catalog have been assigned Library of Congress Subject Headings. Subject Headings are terms the Library of Congress uses to describe the subject content of an item. You can click on these subject headings to find books on similar topics. Some examples of nursing subject headings include:
