Newspaper Collections at Binghamton University Libraries

Binghamton University Libraries collect several important Latin American and Caribbean newspapers. The easiest way to search for newspaper holdings is to open the library catalog infoLINK. Then, select "Journals & Newspapers" from the drop-down box "Change Subset." Enter in a country name in the keyword search box to retrieve newspapers from that country. Or search for a specific title.

The Libraries also provide electronic access to several newspapers through metaLINK. Browse our collections of Current Events & News databases. Of particular interest to students of Latin American Studies will be Ethnic News Watch and Factiva. Ethnic News Watch provides full-text coverage from 1990 of the ethnic press. It can also be searched using a Spanish interface. You can read the last two weeks of several important newspapers from Latin America and the world using Factiva's "News Pages" option. The page defaults to the United States, but by changing the drop-down box, patrons can access news from other countries of interest.

Members of the university community are also encouraged to use Binghamton University Libraries' interlibrary loan service ILLiad to request articles or microfilmed versions of newspapers that we may not have access to.
