ACLS History E-Book Project

Includes over 1400 full-text, cross-searchable books in the field of history selected by historians for their continuing importance to students and scholars. Full-text searchable ; also browsable by Subject.

Clase/Periódica (FirstSearch)

Clase and Periodica index over 2,600 Latin American and Caribbean journals published in the humanities, social sciences, science and technology. Citations are from articles, essays, book reviews, monographs, conference proceedings, technical reports, interviews and brief notes. The indexed journals include periodicals that are edited in 24 different countries of Latin America and the Caribbean, as well as publications that focus on Pan-American issues. Coverage: 1975-present.

Handbook of Latin American Studies

A multidisciplinary Bibliography on Latin America consisting of works selected and annotated by scholars. Alternates annually between the social sciences and the humanities.

Hispanic American Periodicals Index

Indexes journals about Central and South America, Mexico, the Caribbean, and Hispanics in the U.S. and includes a wide range of topics. Coverage: 1970-present.

Historical Abstracts/America History & Life

Historical Abstracts is a complete reference guide to the history of the world from 1450 to the present. America History & Life covers the United States and Canada. Historical Abstracts covers the rest of the world. Coverage: publication date 1954-present.

More than 2,500 primary sources covering current events around the world from 1972 to present. An introduction for each document provides historical and intellectual context.

Periodicals Index Online (Formerly PCI)

PIO is an electronic index to millions of articles published in over 3935 periodicals in the humanities and social sciences. Includes journals in English, French, German, Italian, Spanish and other Western languages. Currently indexes around 13 million articles since the eighteenth century and every article in each journal is indexed. Coverage: Varies by title; latest is 1990/1991

RLIN Bibliographic File/ WorldCat

Two multi-library online catalogs. Essentially a “combined online catalog” of the major academic and research libraries in the US and the world.

America's Newspapers

Full text of ten New York regional newspapers, including the Press & Sun Bulletin. Also includes seven national newspapers.

Congressional Universe

Congressional Universe provides access to information and publications by and about the U.S. Congress, including bills, laws, hearings, prints, reports, documents, the Federal Register, the Code of Federal Regulations, Statutes at Large, the Congressional Record, the National Journal, and Congress Daily. It also includes an index of congressional publications since 1970, legislative histories, testimony from hearings, bill tracking, and information about members of Congress, their voting record and campaign finance data. Earliest coverage goes back to 1970, but varies depending on the type of information.

CQ Researcher

A weekly publication providing original in-depth analysis of the most current major and controversial issues of the day. Users may browse through articles in the current issue or search for past articles using words, dates or other criteria. CQ Researcher is useful for research on major controversial topics of national and international scope. Each issue that is examined includes a 125-word summary, introduction to the issue, history of the issue, recent events surrounding the issue, where the issue is headed, issue timeline, statements from representatives of opposing positions, works cited, readings for further research, organizations concerned, and notes on sources.

CQ Weekly

Offers full coverage of the U.S. Congress: status of bills, votes and amendments, floor and committee activity, and backroom maneuvering. Produced by the largest news team on Capitol Hill. Search by keyword, topic, page number, committee, bill number, byline, and date. Archive includes detailed floor votes dating back to 1983.

Ethnic NewsWatch

A full-text collection of articles from newspapers, magazines, and journals of the ethnic, minority, and native press. Topics covered include news, arts, business, culture, education, the environment, history, journalism, political science, sociology. Spanish language search options available. Coverage: Varies by title; earliest from 1985

Factiva

Factiva provides global news and business coverage from 8,000 sources and 118 countries. Coverage is mostly current.

New York Times Historical Backfile

Full page and article images with searchable full text back to the first issue. The collection includes digital reproductions providing access to every page from every available issue. Coverage: 1851-2001. Use other News databases for 2002+.

The Times Digital Archive

The Times Digital Archive is a full-image online archive of every page published by The Times [ London] from 1785-1985. The text within the images is fully searchable at the article level. Users can easily search news articles, obituaries, advertising and classifieds — virtually everything that appeared in the newspaper.

World News Digest

Brings together complete content from the Facts On File World News Digest and a live newsfeed from Reuters to answer questions about events, people, issues, facts, and figures from 1940 to the present. Also delivers maps, photographs, historic documents, and special overviews of key issues, newsmakers, and events since 1940.
