Primary Sources
Although most historical primary source research is done in archives or other record depositories, the Binghamton University Libraries do have both published primary source material and some manuscript material in microform.

Secondary Literature
Academic Search Premier . Academic Search Premier is a scholarly, full-text database designed for academic institutions. The database includes full text for more than 3,600 peer-reviewed publications and indexing and abstracting for more than 8,200 journals in nearly every academic field of study
Historical Abstracts/America History & Life . An index to over 1,700 scholarly journal titles published worldwide covering the history of the United States and Canada from pre-history to the present. Coverage Dates: 1964 – present.
JSTOR. Archival collection of scholarly journals in all disciplines including history. Coverage Dates: First issue to current "moving wall". The moving wall represents the time period between the last issue available in JSTOR and the most recently published issue of a journal. It is specified by publishers in their license agreements with JSTOR, and generally ranges from 3 and 5 years.
Secondary/Primary LiteratureThe following databases include scholarly literature before coverage available in America: History & Life or JSTOR. Since the databases include citations from the 17 th-20 th centuries, they can also be considered primary source material.

Primary Literature
New York Times Historical Backfile - Full page and article images with searchable full text back to the first issue in 1851.
Times (London) Digital Archive - A full-image online archive of every page published by The London Times from its first issue in 1785 to1985.
Making of America Project - A digital library of primary sources in 19th century American history. Includes books and journals published in the United States from the collections of Cornell University and the University of Michigan.
AMERICAN MEMORY PROJECT. Primary source materials from The Library of Congress, includes digital items such as George Washington's letters, Civil War photographs, women sufferage materials, early maps, etc. Coverage Dates: 16 th century to the present.
19th Century Masterfile. T his index is the largest resource for pre-1920 studies. Search every relevant printed index to material of the period including New York Times and London Times, which are digitally available in full-text via the New York Times Historical Backfile (1851-2001) and The Time Digital Archive (London Times 1785-1985).
