Intute – Provides evaluations on Web resources for education and research, including engineering. Search by subject area.
National Science Digital Library (NSDL) – Funded by the National Science Foundation, the NSDL is a growing digital library of educational and informational resources in all areas of science, technology, engineering and mathematics. It also serves as a portal to other Web resources in the sciences.
SCIRUS – Scirus is billed as "the most comprehensive science-specific search engine available on the Internet," searching "over 450 million science-specific webpages." Searches can be limited to engineering or computer science in advanced search mode.
TechXtra – TechXtra is a free search engine search for finding articles, books, websites, industry news, job posting, technical reports and data, research, and educational in engineering, mathematics and computing.
ViFaTec: Virtuelle Fachbibliothek Technik – "ViFaTec offers structured access to relevant online technical information for engineers, technicians and scientist" and includes a subject guide and search engine. It is run by Technical Information Library (TIB) at Universitat Hannover in Germany. Link is to the English language interface.
