Beilstein Crossfire - How to Download
The Beilstein CrossFire plus Reactions Database is available to
Binghamton University faculty, students, and staff. Online access is
available from any IP address on the Binghamton campus.
We link to the database via the University of Wisconsin - Madison Libraries Beilstein Client Server.
Beilstein is a factual database containing millions of organic compounds, organic reactions, and organometallic and inorganic compounds. It contains the contents of the print Beilsteins Handbuch der organischen Chemie, with citations dating back to 1772. CrossFire Beilstein indexes three primary data domains: substances, reactions and literature.
Search capabilities in the database are availble through multiple access points. You can search for physical and chemical data, chemical structures and substructures, reaction information (reagents, catalysts, and side products).
To use Beilstein Crossfire you'll need to Download Crossfire Version 7.1 - instructions for Mac and PC versions.
Download instructions for the Module - set up the system for Binghamton University.
Email the Chemistry Librarian to get the groupname, login ID, and password, and groupname. The information will be emailed to you. Please provide a binghamton.edu email address to verify you are afiiliated with Binghamton University.
