Anthropology: Preservation & Archives

Archaeological Data Archive Project
Established in 1993 to provide safe, secure archival storage for machine-readable data from archaeological research projects. Under the auspices of the Center for the Study of Architecture (CSA).

Archaeology Data Service (ADS)
Project began 1 October 1996 and is a consortium of UK institutions whose aim is to collect, describe, catalogue, preserve, and provide user support for digital resources that are created as a product of archaeological research.

COPAR: Council for the Preservation of Anthropological Records
Purpose is to identify, encourage the preservation, and foster the use of the records of anthropological research. Incorporated in February 1995.

National Anthropological Archives (Smithsonian Institution)
Includes professional papers of anthropologists and professional organizations, as well as historical manuscripts relating to North American natives.
