Research Services
Librarians can provide individuals or small groups with personalized research assistance by arranging an appointment for a consultation. We can also help you set up journal article alerts. You can view a list of the Subject Librarians to find out who would be the best person for you to contact. Or, if you need general assistance or a quick fact, you can contact us remotely or in person through our Ask A Librarian service.
Library Instruction Sessions
Librarians offer library instruction sessions for student courses at the request of the instructor. They typically last one hour and can include such topics as general navigation of the Libraries Website and online catalog, library tours, website evaluation, database and online searching for articles, and research guides. You can use our online Library Instruction Request Form to submit a request for a library instruction session. Or you can view a list of the Subject Librarians to contact your library liaison directly.
Access to Databases and E-journals
Not only can librarians demonstrate the use of databases and electronic journals that the libraries have purchased, but they can also set up trial access to databases and e-journals you are interested in trying. Purchase Library Materials
Librarians are always open to suggestions for print and electronic materials to purchase. Binghamton University faculty and students are our primary patrons and we want to hear from you. Science Library Blog
The blog provides library news, information about changes to journal subscriptions and new electronic resources, and highlights developments in scholarly research. You can also find citations to your colleagues' recent publications indexed in Web of Science. You can subscribe to the latest headlines from the Science Library Blog using an RSS feed.
