Eigenfactor, a new website that ranks journals

Eigenfactor http://www.eigenfactor.org ranks journals much as Google ranks websites.

The website provides influence rankings for 7000+ science and social science journals and rankings for an additional 110,000+ reference items including newspapers, and popular magazines.

Eigenfactor.org is a non-commercial academic research project sponsored by the Bergstrom lab in the Department of Biology at the University of Washington.

The Eigenfactor Web site http://www.eigenfactor.org is still under development.

ACS Journal of Chemical Theory and Computation now available

The Libraries now has online access to one of the newest journals from the American Chemical Society, Journal of Chemical Theory and Computation (JCTC). Online coverage extends back to volume 1.

American Insititute of Physics Journal Archives Available

The Libraries is happy to announce that AIP journals with backfiles owned by the Libraries are now available back to volume 1 online:

Journal of Chemical Physics (1933-2007)
Applied Physics Letters (1962-2007)
Journal of Applied Physics (1931-2007)
Journal of Mathematical Physics (1960-2007)
Physics of Fluids (1958-2007)
Review of Scientific Instruments (1930-2007)

This coverage is in addition to archived volumes of journals available from the American Physical Society, Institute of Physics, and American Chemical Society.

JSTOR Health & General Sciences Collection

The JSTOR General Science Collection was recently renamed JSTOR Health & General Sciences Collection to reflect the addition of several journals in the health sciences. The new titles available are American Journal of Nursing (began publication in 1900), Environmental Health Perspectives (began 1972), and the Journal of Community Health Nursing (began 1984). According to JSTOR, at least ten further titles will be added over the next two years, including Epidemiology, Epidemiology and Infection, and European Journal of Epidemiology.

SIAM Journals Online now available on Scitation platform

The SIAM Journal on Computing and the SIAM Journal on Discrete Mathematics 1997 - present are now available on the Scitation plaform. Enhancements include BiBTeX citation downloads and forward citation linking. We have access to selected issues of other SIAM journals via the JSTOR Arts & Sciences I Collection and Academic Search Premier. For a list of SIAM journals for which we have content, please see the Find e-journal feature in metaLINK.
