Update on Nature Peer Review Trial and Debate

In June 2006, Nature began trialling an open peer review for authors who submitted papers to the journal. Participating authors allowed Nature to post their manuscript publicly for comment. Despite enthusiasm for the concept, Nature recently reported that open peer review was not widely popular, either among authors or by scientists invited to comment. Read more about the trial here.
