Worldwide Political Science Abstracts

This new subscription database offers access to the backfiles of Political Science Abstracts, 1975-200 and ABC Poli Sci, 1984-2000. It continues to index a wide range of political science journals, as well as journals in complimentary fields.

This database can be found in metaLINK under both Political Science and Public Administration.

Civil Rights Documents

The Thurgood Marshall Law Library, in cooperation with the Government Printing Office, is creating an online archive of important papers of United States Commission on Civil Rights. The collection includes both historical documents, such as the Civil Rights Act , to a 1994 study on white supremcists in Montana and a 2002 study on voting rights in Florida.

New Database

The Military and Government Collection is designed to provide information for members of the military and military contractors. It indexes and provides full text to a number of journals and pamphlets that can assist any scholar or student who is researching topics associated with military history, current military action, law enforcement or national security.

Representatives from many agencies will be available to provide assistance, including the Empire State Development Center, Department of Labor, Social Services and the American Red Cross. Google Uncle Sam has changed its name to "Google US Government Search" and is now located at:

In addition to powerful search features, the new engine also includes a government and military news portal on the front page.

NYS Hospital Profiles website

NYS Department of Health has created a web site for Hospital Profiles that provides success rates, treatment rates, and other statistical information.

Hospitals can be compared to each other or to the state average.

The web site is linked from the Community Assessment and Demographics page.

Homeland Security Digital Library

The Libraries now has access to the Homeland Security Digital Library, which provides access to documents regarding homeland security policy and strategy.

]]> The database indexes a variety of documents from the U.S. Government, research institutions, and think tanks. In many cases, online full text is available.

The Iraqi Perspective Project

Pentagon has released the "Iraqi Perspective Project," which is offers an Iraqi view on the American military actions in Iraq. Twenty three top government officials were interviewed for the project. New Government Documents Catalog

A new Catalog of Government Publications is available at: http://catalog.gpo.gov. This catalog is an index of U.S. government publications – print, microfiche, and electronic - published since 1976.
