Database of the Month

I'm starting a new feature for the blog, highlighting one of the Libraries' business databases each month. This month's database is Business and Company Resource Center. It contains company profiles, histories, investment reports, financials, rankings; SIC and NAICS industry descriptions; newspaper and periodical articles. There is limited coverage of market research reports contained in some company records as well. The SIC and NAICS codes are the government's way of classifying industries. If you don't know the code for your industry (and who does?), try looking up a major company in that industry and look at the codes listed in the company profile. The articles contained in this database are, for the most part, from trade magazines and not scholarly. B&CRC is of particular use to students in the MGMT 411 strategy classes.
