About Binghamton University Library Instruction

The Libraries' Instruction program supports the teaching mission of the University and the Libraries to educate not only for academic success but also for lifelong learning in one's professional and personal life. Llibrary faculty work with classroom faculty and program directors to facilitate the teaching and learning of information literacy in the undergraduate and graduate/professional curricula and to give students a positive active experience using the Libraries and its resources.

The Libraries' instructional program offers multiple approaches to meet the diverse needs of the University community. Librarians offer hands-on instruction in our Bartle Library and Science Library computer instruction labs where students can learn effective research strategies, practice using online sources, and critically evaluate the sources they find. Classes are customized to meet the goals and objectives of the course and student needs.
